NOVA ROOTS Forensic Women’s Hub is an out of hours community space for women aged 18+ leaving forensic mental health services, open 3 days a week for one evening and the weekend.

We offer a safe, warm, non-judgemental environment for women to build meaningful connections and have access to free activities and resources.

Our interventions often take on a creative approach and will always refer to your personal plans to ensure we can cater to your current and future needs.

How we can help:

Creative space

Creativity can encourage positive mental health and wellbeing, so our service offers opportunities to join art or music or craft groups.

Mental Health

Living with a mental health diagnosis can sometimes be challenging. We will support you by helping you connect with other women and mental health professionals who understand the issues you’re dealing with. There will be regular support groups of women in similar situations, which can help you feel less isolated.

Reduce re-admission

You may be feeling anxious about the possibility of being re-admitted. We work closely with you to understand your safety plan and coping strategies, and ensure that all agencies are on the same page for your care pathway.

Relational

We offer a safe space for you to build a new community, where you can practice social skills and make new friends.

Sexual Health

We can help you access accurate information about sexual health, and signposting to free NHS services.

Women’s Health

Our workshops promote positive women’s health and self-image, including information about periods, menopause, and body positivity.

Working on yourself

Our mental health often improves when we understand ourselves better. We can help you to learn more about yourself, and build your confidence in a safe environment.
