If you’re a student at West London College with experience creating or editing video, we’d love for you to volunteer with us!
What will you do as a video volunteer?
If you volunteer with us, you’ll be able to create video on mental health topics that matter to you. Whether that’s telling a story, helping people understand a diagnosis, or just pointing where to go for more support, videos play a key role in how people find us.
You can be as involved across the process as you want, writing the scripts, storyboarding your ideas, interviewing people, or even being in the videos yourself. If that isn’t for you, you can let us handle that, with you editing the raw footage together into something great.
You don’t need professional experience to volunteer with us. We don’t just want to give you scripts, we want to know what kinds of videos you want to create.
Whatever you can do, if you’re passionate about mental health, we want to hear from you.
The type of person we are looking for is:
- Passionate about mental health
- Has experience creating and editing videos
- Organised and has a great eye for detail, and able to follow briefs
You’ll need to:
- Follow design briefs for videos
- Check your work for clarity and mistakes
- Edit, design and create simple animations, like the ones on our youtube
How your videos will help our mental health work
Videos help people find us, and understand who we are and what we do, as well as how we can help them with mental health. Your video might help someone feel less alone, or be the thing that makes someone give us a call.
They also help us show off our work to the NHS, local council, and people who want to help support our work.
What you’ll get out of volunteering with us
Your work may directly help people find mental health services they need, so you’ll know your videos are making a difference in people’s lives.
Volunteering with us would help enhance your CV and showreel, showing you’re driven, capable, and willing to
