Mental Health Support for Parents & Carers

Giving adults mental health focused emotional support and practical tools allows them to too better support the children and young people around them. We work with parents and education staff to provide opportunities to develop new skills and understanding that build their own resilience and that of their children and students.

1:1 Support

We work with parents and carers of primary school children who are feeling anxious, worried, stressed, fearful, overwhelmed, having behavioural difficulties, feeling frustrated, having frequent tantrums or difficulties following routines. We provide 1:1 low-intensity guided self-help over 6-8 weekly sessions for children presenting with mild to moderate mental health difficulties via face to face or virtual sessions.

Group Activity 

We provide face to face and virtual psychoeducational universal workshops, coffee mornings and parents evening for parents/carers to support with several aspects of the child life, such as routines, wellbeing, challenging behaviour, anxiety.

Next step: This service is not available in all schools. Schools that offer this service advertise group activities via schools’ newsletters. 

Mental Health Drop-in Service and Signposting

We offer a drop-in service to parents/carers to discuss concerns around their child mental health and wellbeing. The Drop-in offers support to parents providing information, signposting and basic guidance about how to manage some of the behaviours to improve children wellbeing and mental health.

Mental Health & Emotional Wellbeing Training for Parents & Carers

Our workshops for parents & carers help to build awareness & understanding of mental and emotional wellbeing. Topics include;  Youth Mental Health Awareness; Parents/Carer Wellbeing Training; and bespoke topics are available on request.

Drop-in Service and Signposting
